What is a leak test for GPS antennas?

Case Shows

GPS receives satellite signals for positioning or navigation. An antenna must be used to receive the signal.

Most GPS antennas are right-handed polarized ceramic media, and their components are: ceramic antennas, low-noise signal modules, cables, and connectors.

The antenna is generally placed outdoors , exposure to the sun or wind and rain. Therefore, its waterproof performance must be good, otherwise it is easy to destroy the collected information and affect the accuracy of positioning or navigation.

What I want to share this time is about the case of GPS antenna air leak test.

Test method: adopt the direct test function, design the mold and tooling according to the shape of the GPS antenna.

Testing equipment: Hirays’ HC classic series air leak tester

After the mold and tooling are in place, put the antenna on the mold, select the set program, press the start button, the mold blocks the GPS antenna, the tester enters the test program, and the tester performs pumping, voltage stabilization, testing and other actions. The system automatically determines OK or NG of the test results according to the set parameters.

Program parameters: Input press 12.5Kpa, Filling time 10s, stable 10s, test time 5s, exhaust time 2s. If the leakage value does not exceed 30pa, it means that the controller has passed the air leakage test, and the test result will also show OK.
