IPX waterproof test grade and experimental conditions

The waterproof grade of electronic measuring instrument reflects the ability of moisture-proof and dust-proof, especially for outdoor activities, inevitably in the harsh environment of high humidity or dust, the sealing and waterproof ability of the instrument is very important to ensure the safe operation and service life of the instrument. Therefore, iec529 standard has been formulated internationally. In order to adapt to this, the Japanese industrial standard divides the waterproof protection of electronic instruments into 10 levels, namely ipx1, ipx2 & amp; hellip;& amp; hellip; express.

0 unprotected

Ipxx grade

The international industrial standard waterproof grade IP and Japanese Industrial Standard JIS waterproof grade are close, divided into 9 grades of 0-8, IP grade also has provisions on dust prevention.

Dustproof and waterproof

5: Prevent harmful dust accumulation

6: Completely prevent dust from entering

Waterproof grade

0: no protection

1: Water drops into the shell have no effect

2: When the shell is tilted to 15 degrees, water drops into the shell have no effect

3: Water or rain from the 60 degree corner to the shell has no effect

4: There is no harmful effect when the liquid is splashed on the shell from any direction

5: There is no harm in washing with water

6: It can be used in cabin environment

7: It can withstand immersion in a short time (1m)

8: Immerse in water for a long time under certain pressure

test method

Example: the scale or display instrument is marked as IP65, which means that the product can completely prevent dust from entering and can be washed with water without any harm.

Method name: vertical drip test

Test equipment: drip test device

Sample placement: according to the normal working position of the sample, the sample is placed on the rotating sample table at the rate of 1 R / min, and the distance from the top of the sample to the drip outlet is not more than 200 mm

Test conditions: the dripping amount is 10.5 ml / min

Duration: 10 min

IPx 2

Method name: tilt 15 & amp; deg; Dripping test

Test equipment: drip test device

Specimen placement: make one face of the specimen form 15 & amp; 15 with the vertical line; deg; The distance from the top of the sample to the drip outlet shall not be more than 200 mm. After each test, change to another surface, a total of four times.

Test conditions: the dripping amount was 30.5 ml / min

IPx 3

Method name: drenching test

Test method:

a。 Pendulum tube water spraying test

Test equipment: pendulum tube water splashing test device

Sample placement: select the swing tube with appropriate radius, make the height of sample table at the position of swing tube diameter, place the sample on the sample table, make the distance from its top to the sample water jet not more than 200 mm, and the sample table does not rotate.

Test conditions: the water flow rate is calculated according to the number of spray holes in the pendulum tube, and each hole is 0.07 L / min. when pouring water, both sides of the midpoint of the pendulum tube are 60 & amp; deg; The spray water from the spray hole in the arc section is sprayed to the sample. The sample is placed in the semicircle center of the pendulum tube. Test time: continuous watering for 10 min

b。 Sprinkler spray test

Test equipment: hand held sprinkling and splashing test device

Test conditions: the baffle with counterweight should be installed during the test, and the water flow rate is 10 L / min

Test time: calculated according to the surface area of the tested sample shell, 1 min per square meter (excluding the installation area), at least 5 min

IPx 4

Method name: splash test

Test method:

a. Pendulum tube splash test

Test equipment and sample placement: same as IPX 3 (a) above;

Test conditions: except for the latter conditions, they are the same as those in IPX 3 (a) above; The spray area is 90 & amp; 90 on both sides of the middle point of the pendulum tube; deg; The spray water from the spray hole in the arc section is sprayed to the sample. The sample is placed in the semicircle center of the pendulum tube. Test time: the same as the above IPX 3 B, that is, 1 min per square meter (excluding the installation area) and at least 5 min according to the surface area of the tested sample shell

IPx 5

Method name: water spray test

Test equipment: the inner diameter of spray nozzle is 6.3mm

Test conditions: the distance between the test sample and the spray nozzle is 2.5m ~ 3M, and the water flow rate is 12.5 L / min (750 L / h)

Test time: calculated according to the surface area of the shell of the tested sample, 1 min per square meter (excluding the installation area) and at least 3 min

IPx 6

Method name: strong water spray test;

Test equipment: the inner diameter of spray nozzle is 12.5 mm

Test conditions: the distance between the test sample and the spray nozzle is 2.5m ~ 3M, and the water flow rate is 100 L / min (6000 L / h)

Test time: calculated according to the surface area of the shell of the tested sample, 1 min per square meter (excluding the installation area) and at least 3 min

IPx 7

Method name: short time immersion test

Test equipment and conditions: soaking tank. The size shall be such that the distance from the bottom of the sample to the water surface shall be at least 1m after the sample is put into the immersion tank. The distance from the top of the sample to the water surface shall be at least 0.15m
